Virginia Sarbach (Martineau) - Class of 1931 VIEW PROFILE

Virginia Lettie Sarbach Martineau, 74, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 1988 at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier.


She was born July 29, 1913 in Montpelier, to Walter W. and Lettie Christoffersen Sarbach. She was raised and lived most of her life in Montpelier. In the Montpelier High School she was a member of the National Honor Society.

She graduated from the LDS Hospital School of Nursing in Idaho Falls in 1934 and worked for several years as a nurse in both Caribou Memorial and Bear Lake Memorial hospitals.

She married Joseph Weston Martineau Oct. 1, 1936 in Nampa. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple Dec. 29, 1959.

She was an active member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her husband of Montpelier, two daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Liane) DeGraw, Big Piney, Wyo., Mrs. David (Julie) Steffes, Orchard Park, N. Y., and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Christopher.

Funeral services were held Feb. 27, 1988 at the Montpelier First-Fourth Ward chapel with Bishop Allen Ipsen officiating. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
