Thank you for taking a few minutes to read about our background and life experiences.
My wife, Carrolyn, and I live in Austin, Texas, a beautiful and vibrant community, and are the parents and grandparents of a large extended family of 10 grown kids and 25 "growing" grandkids who are scattered over 6 states---Texas, Utah, Illinois, California, Wisconsin, and Louisiana---and 2 great grandkids.
We have lived (one or both of us) in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Canada, California, Alabama, Louisiana, Guatemala, Germany and Texas.
My experiences include missionary service in the Western States Mission in Albuquerque and Los Alamos, New Mexico (the gated "Atomic City"), then to Grand Junction and Denver, Colorado.
I attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah. While there I served in the Lambda Delta Sigma (LDS) as president of Beta Chapter, and after my mission I served as president of Delta Phi (returned missionary fraternity).
I also rejoined AFROTC and was selected for pilot training at Logan Airport pursuant to Air Force pilot training, and earned my private pilot's license.
I then graduated from Utah State with a B. S. in Education, majoring in vocal music with a minor in instrumental music, and later completed post graduate studies in Education and Public Services Administration and Management from Ball State University, and German language studies at Troy State University.
Following graduation from Utah State I completed a 20 year career in the United States Air Force first flying various aircraft---then flying a desk as an AFROTC Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies at Colorado State University, teaching Pilot Ground School, Geopolitics and Leadership and Management to senior cadets.
A later assignment at Bitburg Air Base, Germany, as Chief of the Base Personnel Office (CBPO) culminated in being awarded "Best in Air Force"-1970. Future assignments included Wing Director of Personnel and eventually as Director of Support Division, Headquarters 12th Air Force Inspector General.
Since retirement I have owned and operated several small businesses and then moved into real estate as Vice President of Construction and Marketing of custom homes in the Austin area,. I am currently actively involved in pursuing real estate finance and investment interests.
Carrolyn served as a Peace Corps volunteer in a small village in the Highlands of Guatemala, accessible only by mule, where she assisted the local teachers and helped with the installation of gravity flow water systems.
She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a B. S. in Sociology in the Social Work Sequence and a Master of Social Work from Tulane University (MSW) in New Orleans, Louisiana. She worked for the state of Texas providing assistance to young women on welfare, then as a social worker for residents of a maternity home. Ultimately she fulfilled her dream of being a licensed psychotherapist. Currently she is employed by the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department as a Recreational Program Specialist in a Senior Activity Center.

My experiences at Montpelier High School were wonderful and memorable, not only because of opportunities afforded for growth and development, but because of the many associations with you, my classmates. It was my good fortune and hopefully yours to attend a small town school where most everyone knew everyone else in a meaningful, and yes, memorable way.
