Jennifer Lyn Barnson - Class of 2000

Jennifer Lyn Barnson, 14, died immediately in an automobile accident on January 17, 1997, on the way to a basketball game with her father, brother and friends. Jenny was born April 8, 1982 in Pocatello, and became a daughter of David and Annette Lloyd Barnson when she was 13 months old. She was an active member of the LDS Church. She was a freshman at Bear Lake High where she had a grade point average of 4.0 and was an honor society member and was serving as freshman class president. She was a Montpelier girls softball association team member, was a member of the "Showcase" singing group and had been a seventh-grade cheerleader. She really loved her family, friends, school, and enjoyed skiing and swimming.

She is survived by her mother and her sister, Mollie Ann Barnson, both of Montpelier; grandparents Glenn and Mary Jean Barnson of Montpelier, and Doyle and Fern Lloyd of Dingle; aunts Cyndie (Jim) Birch of Cokeville, Teresa (Blair) Keetch of Burley and Jolene (Victor) Gates of North Salt Lake; uncles Jim (Wendy) Lloyd of Dingle, Lynn (Darla) Lloyd of Dingle, Dwight (Kelly) Lloyd of Randolph; great grandmother Thelma Barnson Jacobsen of Salt Lake City; and 21 first cousins.

Joint funeral services for Jenny, her father and her brother David Andrew Barnson will be held January 23 at Noon in the Montpelier Tabernacle. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on Thursday at the tabernacle from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.

The family suggests donations to the following organizations: Bear Lake County School Libraries and Computer Labs, Bear Lake County Memorial Hospital Expansion Project and Montpelier Volunteer Fire Department in memory of the Barnson family.
