Nanna Nielsen (Thompson) - Class of 1914

Funeral services for Mrs. Nanna Elizabeth Thompson, who died February 8, 1966 after several months' illness, were held in the Community Methodist Church, Portola, California on February 11. She was born Nanna Elizabeth Nielsen on April 6. 1892 in Ovid, the daughter of Andrew and Marie Nielsen. She attended Montpelier High School and graduated in one of the early graduating classes of Montpelier High School, 1914. After attending Normal College at Albion, she taught school for several years. She and Alfred Thompson were married May 22, 1917 in the Presbyterian Church of Montpelier. They lived in Montpelier until moving to Portola, California in 1943. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. T. C. Mieir of Menlo Park, California and Mrs. Rex Gilbreath of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; grandchildren including Mrs. Ferris Hymas of Montpelier, and great-grandchildren. Interment was in the Portola cemetery.
