Shelby Lin Skinner - Class of 2011

Shelby Lin Skinner, 24 years old, has returned to her loving Father in Heaven after a valiant fight with brain cancer, surrounded by her family on December 10th, 2016 at her home in Preston, Idaho. She was born on September 29th, 1992 in Logan, Utah to John and Ellen Skinner. Shelby graduated Bear Lake High School in 2011 with her CNA and attended Utah State. She was enrolled in nursing school when she was diagnosed with brain cancer. Shelby moved home shortly after her diagnosis. She met and married Tyson Black and later divorced.

Shelby had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. She was always putting others before herself. Shelby’s smile would light up a room and you would always find a baby in her arms. She liked riding horses, reading books, crocheting, playing the piano and violin. She worked for Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, Bear Lake Hot Springs, many flower shops, Cooper’s, and Subway. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family. Shelby was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In September of this year she was able to receive her temple endowments.

Shelby is survived by her mom and dad, John and Ellen Skinner of Preston, Idaho; two brothers; Jared (Alexis) Skinner of Dingle, Idaho, Randy (Cassie Ann) Skinner of Dingle, Idaho; two sisters; Cassie Jo(Collin) Roberts of Erda, Utah, McKenzie (Deven) King of Montpelier, Idaho; 10 nieces and 4 nephews; Ava Jade and Sasha, her loving puppies. She also leaves behind a lot of caring relatives and friends. Preceded in death by grandparents; Clifford and Golda Skinner and Eldon and Evangeline Hymas. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday, December 17th, 2016 @ 11:00 a.m. in the Preston 1st Ward LDS Chapel.
