Randall Lee Toomer, 56, was reunited with his Mom and Dad on October 26, 2024, in Montpelier, Idaho, with his family by his side.
He was the second youngest child born to Roger and Nancy Bentsen Toomer on March 7, 1968, at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. They lived in several places during his childhood, including Pocatello and Texas, but eventually settled in Montpelier where he graduated in 1986 from Bear Lake High School. After graduation, he went to work with his dad in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, before deciding to retire to Montpelier and spend the rest of his life working in the mines. He loved to work and took great pride in his job. He taught his boys everything he knew and was immensely proud of them; they were his whole world.
Randy married his high school sweetheart, Tonya Twiss, whom he loved more than life itself. Of this union, they had two boys, Josh and Trevor. Randy and Tonya later divorced but remarried.
He enjoyed being involved in his boys' activities, everything from bull riding to derby cars, hunting, fishing, and boating. He was always there to help them with everything they needed, including all his "bonus kids."
He was blessed with four grandchildren, three granddaughters, and one grandson. They were his pride and joy, and he loved them beyond measure.
Randy is survived by his wife, Tonya, of Montpelier; son Josh (Siddy) Toomer of Soda Springs, ID; son Trevor (Shayla) of Montpelier, ID; grandbabies Elsie, Lynnley, Blaise, and Kinzer; sister Jody Brayton; and niece Amy Bowen (BJ), as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Nancy.
Randy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
"It is what it is."
Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Montpelier City Cemetery.
