Lonnie William Waite - Class of 1979

Lonnie William Waite, 24, a former Montpelier resident, died Thursday, August 15, 1985 in a one:truck rollover, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was born April 15, 1961 in Salem, Ore. to William "Russ" and Zina M. Bristow Waite. He graduated from Bear Lake High Schopl in 1979 where he was a member of the varsity football team and varsity wrestling team for three years. He went to the state wrestling tournament his senior year. He married Karen Lynn Marshall in Montpelier, June 2, 1979. He was employed at the Beker industries Plant at Conda for two years following high school. For the past four years, he was employed in Evanston, Wyo., and then Salt Lake City, Utah as a truck driver. He is survived by his wife, three children, William Deloy, Bethany Zola, and Brandon Lonnie, all of Salt Lake City; parents, Evanston. Wyo.; grandmother, Mrs. Ora M. Waite, Montpelier; three sisters, Mrs. Dale (Belen) Nowland, Dingle; Mrs. Michael (Diana) Hulet, Farmington, N.M.; and Mrs. Robert (Valarie) Bearss, Hayward, Wis. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Matthews Mortuary Chapel in Montpelier. Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
