George Bedell - Class of 1919

Funeral services for the late George Alfred Bedell, well known and popular young man, who died in a Denver hospital of valvular heart trouble and complications on September 5, 1926, were held at the Presbyterian Church Thursday, Sept. 9, 1926 at 2 PM. The services were conducted by Rev. Jordon of Cokeville, Wyo. Music was furnished by a choir composed of Mesdames Everingham, Errington and Christman and Messrs Williams, Jordon and Gray, who sang "Lead Kindly Light," "Rock of Ages," and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." They were accompanied by Miss Dorothy Datesman at the piano. The pallbearers were his boyhood chums, Dr. Stewart Barkdull, Grant Staley, Scott Pendry, George Hoskins, Vern Dunn and Fred Gray. The floral offerings were many and beautiful and spoke of the high esteem in which Coorge was held both here and at Denver. George was a very likeable young man of pleasing personality and had many friends who were grieved to hear of his untimely death. He was born September 20, 1899, the son of William Edward and Mary Alice Sensenbaugh Bedell. He was a member of the Montpelier High School class of 1919, however he did not graduate. He served in the US military during WWI. He is survived by his parents of this city and the following brother and sisters: Lloyd Bidell of Sparks Nevada; Mrs. S. C. Deardorff of Chehalis. Washington; Mrs. A. H. Schlottman of Payette, Idaho; Mrs C. J. Alveraz of Berkeley, California; Mrs. George Maxwell and Mrs. F. R. Preston of this city. All were In attendance at the funeral with the exception of the sister in Berkeley. Interment was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
