Winfield Scott Shupe was born in Montpelier June 12, 1900, the son of William George and Caddie Madora Phelps Shupe. He was a member of the class of 1919 however he did not graduate. He served in the US military during WWI. He married Lavaun Tripp November 8, 1921. He died June 22, 1959 in Los Angeles and was buried in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
