Nancy Mae Phelps (Montague) - Class of 1917

Relatives here were apprised November 30, 1927 of the death of .Mrs. L. C. Montague. Which occured In Oakland, California that day. Mrs. Montague was formerly Miss Nancy Mae Phelps of this city, born June 4, 1897, the daughter of Joseph Morris and Mary Marvelia Osborn Phelps.  She graduated from Montpelier High School in 1917 and married Louis Claude Montague, an employee of the Oregon Short Line, on December 14, 1921 in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Montague was confined In a hospital In Boise for several weeks receiving treatment for internal ailments, and about three weeks ago went to Oakland with her mother, Mrs. Phelps, and her husband and four year old son. Information received by members of Mrs. Montague's family in Montpelier this morning is to the effect that services and burial of Mrs. Montague will be held in San Francisco next Monday. Melvin Phelps, brother of Mrs. Montague, will leave tomorrow for San Francisco to be In attendance at the services. Interment was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
