Amy Melanie Christensen, 67, passed away August 19, 2024, in her home surrounded by her husband and children.
Amy was born March 30, 1957, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Kent Hymas Hansen and Carla Elinor Mackey Hansen. She grew up and attended high school in Montpelier and graduated from Bear Lake High School. She also attended Ricks College, Spring Arbor College, and the University of Southern California where she earned her Masters Degree in Social Work.
On August 4, 1978, she Married Ralph Christensen in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Amy and Ralph made their home in College Station, Texas; Big Spring, Texas; Pikeville, Kentucky; Cedar City, Utah; Petoskey, Michigan; and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed watercolors, ceramics, traveling, lighthouses, and especially spoiling her 10 grandchildren. She was also Artist of the year in Big Spring, Texas.
Amy is survived by her husband Ralph Christensen; son, Jay Christensen; daughter, Aimee Holmes (Kelly); son, Mark Christensen (Mianna); son, Sherman Christensen (Tori); sister, Rae Bacharach (John); sister, Sherri Gregerson (Steffan); and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Stephen Hansen and Kent Hansen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Deloy Ward, 4440 High Grove Road. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00-1:45 prior at the church.
