Ramona Kunz - Class of 1946

Ramona Gene Kunz Johnson,96, of Bern Idaho passed away July 28, 2024, at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility, surrounded by her family.
Ramona came into the world with a bang on July 4, 1928, in Bern Idaho. She was the first of six children born to DelMar and Wanda Johnson Kunz. She grew up in Bern where she enjoyed playing with friends and cousins. She attended school in Bern then later in Montpelier. While attending high school, she also worked for Lowe Drug where she enjoyed meeting new people.

On November 6, 1947, she married Earl D. Johnson in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Bern, starting out their married life in a little log cabin. Over the years they were blessed with three daughters. - Lana, Jana, and Earlene.

Ramona's whole life has been about serving others, whether it be family or neighbors. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many church callings throughout her life. One of her favorite hobbies was playing the piano, and she made sure all her daughters learned to play and instilled in them a love for music. She loved to can and made the best pickled beets and raspberry jam. Her life was centered around her family. She loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. and was looking forward to becoming a great great grandma this fall.

Ramona is survived by her three daughters; Lana Christiansen, Jana Fouladpour and Earlene (Lynn) Perkes; four grandchildren: Danielle (Zane) Porter, Jamie (Jeff) Britton, Paul Christiansen, and Luke Perkes; three great-grandchildren: Dane Porter, Hobie (Payson) Porter and Madeline Porter. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Montain Kunz.

Services will be held at the Bern Ward LDS Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 2, 2024. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:45 before time of the service at Bern Ward Chapel.
