Gary Glen Christensen, 35, died September 6, 1980 from a gunshot wound. He was born April 10, 1945, in Montpelier to Glen O and Zola Parker Christensen. He married Laura Hand on April 13, 1979, in Montpelier.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman.

Survivors include his widow, of Montpelier; a son Rickie Glen and a daughter Sandy Lynn, both of Sharon; a stepson, Guy McAdam, Montpelier; his parents of Montpelier; three brothers, Jay of Georgetown, Bruce and Mark of Montpelier; five sisters, Mrs. Clinton (Linda) Price and Mrs. Wes (Laralynn) Smith, both of Georgetown, Lois Shltis of Montpelier, Mrs. Phil (Dian) Bartschi of Nounan and Doris Christensen of Montpelier; grandparents Mrs. Rosella Christensen of Montpelier and Mrs. Fontella Parker of Melville, Utah.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday in the Liberty LDS chapel. Burial was in the Montpelier cemetery.
