In Memory

Doyle Alleman - Class of 1958

Doyle Lester Alleman, 85 years of age, passed on Thursday October 31st, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Sandy, Utah.

Doyle was born June 21st, 1939, in Montpelier, Idaho to the late Lester and Rilma Orr Alleman. He was the oldest of five children: Doyle, LaNeta, Blake, Carol, and Ron.

Doyle lived on the family farm in Nounan, Idaho for his growing up years. He attended elementary school in Nounan and graduated form Montpelier High School.

On February 7th, 1958, he married his high school sweetheart Kathryn Wilde in Nounan at his parents’ house. They later got sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan, Utah temple on February 24th, 1982.

Together they welcomed four children: Teresa, Greg, Todd, and Laura.

He worked at Central Farmers up Georgetown Canyon. Later he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked for Hercules and Kennecott Copper Mine. They returned to their homestead in Georgetown where he worked at Beker/Nuwest/Agrium for many years until he retired.

Dad enjoyed farming, hunting, camping, cross-country skiing, fishing, and hauling firewood. Dad had a favorite dog named Miko. He always said it was mom’s dog, but you would never catch him going anywhere without Miko. He took her to the ranch daily and she would ride in the tractor with him.

He loved to tell jokes, his favorite was “guess what?” of course everyone would always say “what” and he would reply “you guessed it.”

We always wondered if Dad was like a cat and had nine lives because he overcame death several times. He battled for many years with Parkinson's disease and dementia. He spent the last couple years in the care of his daughter Laura in Salt Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Kathy, brother Blake, grandson Michael Sorenson, and granddaughters Kristina Sorenson and Kara Stewart.

He is survived by his children Teresa, Greg, Todd (Marcia), Laura (Doug) Carlisle; his sisters LaNeta (Robert) Quintero, Carol (Milt) Hayes; brother Ron (Debra); sister-in-law Diane Bethers; and brother-in-law Russell Wilde; 11 grandkids; 35 great grandkids; and 5 great great grandkids.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 9th at 1:00 in the Georgetown LDS chapel. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 12:00 to 12:45.

Interment will be in the Georgetown cemetery.
