George Irving - Class of 1959

George Richard Irving was born in Soda Springs, Idaho May 7, 1941, the son of George Washington and LaPreal Perkins Irving. He was a member of the class of 1959, however he did not graduate.

George Richard Irving, 41, died Saturday, November 20, 1982, in a Salt Lake City, Utah, hospital. He was a member of the LDS Church. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in July of 1958 and served in Okinawa, Camp Pendleton, Ore., and El Toro, Calif., and was then honorably discharged in August 1962. He married Sandra Callegan Feb. 2, 1961, in Vista, Calif. They were later divorced in 1975. Survivors include a son, George Richard Jr., and a daughter Jody Lynne Irving, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; his mother, Montpelier; a sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Idonna) Conh, Amarillo, Texas; and his fiancee, Debi Sturtz, Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Matthews Mortuary chapel in Montpelier.
