Judy Bartschi (Lane) - Class of 1960

A Life Remembered

After a lingering battle over the side effects of a brain aneurysm, Judy (Julia) Ann Bartschi Layne passed away February 24, 2016, in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Judy’s “Sunrise” was November 2, 1942, in Montpelier, Idaho. She was the first born daughter of parents, Max and Violet (Vicky) Bartschi of Nounan, Idaho. Judy first attended school in Nounan, but completed her elementary schooling in Georgetown, Idaho. She attended high school in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School with the class of 1960.

Judy started college at Utah State University, but adventure called and she traveled with a close friend to Hawaii and spent the next two years living and working on the Islands.  Upon her return, she worked in Salt Lake City Utah.  It was here that she met and married the love of her life, Bill Layne.

Bill and Judy moved to Las Vegas for a few years, back to Utah and ultimately, to Denver where Bill began his flying career as a pilot. Judy worked as an administrative secretary.  They were the parents of two beautiful daughters, Tiffany and Stephanie.

Judy’s “Sunset” was on February 24, 2016 and it was followed with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service, March 6, 2016. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and her parents, Max and Vicky. She is survived by her daughter, Tiffany, daughter Stephanie and her son-in-law, Favor, and four grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Maxine and Janet and eight nieces and nephews.

Judy’s life was full of many friends, family and memories.  She will be missed!
