Freida Gerber (Baird) - Class of 1946

Freida Gerber Baird of Roy, Utah was born in Montpelier, Idaho on December 31, 1926 to Christian and Margaret Schlunegger Gerber. She was married to Ivan F. Baird on December 8, 1945. He died on May 23, 1990. She and Ivan lived in Ogden until 1964 then moved to Roy. Freida worked as a waitress in many of the cafes in the Ogden area for many years. She and Ivan were members of the Weber County Mounted Posse. She loved the association with all the members and especially being able to ride her horse. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to attend the temple. Freida is survived by Julia Nye and Ruth Julian, Montpelier, Idaho; Lillian Eschler, Roosevelt, Utah; Nelda Demain, Ogden, Utah; and Edna Young Grace, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and four sisters. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Ogden City Cemetery.
