Betty Rogalsky (Lewis) - Class of 1946

Betty Alene Lewis, 87, died peacefully Thursday, February 18, 2016 at her home in Middleton, Idaho. Betty was born April 20, 1928, in Rupert, Idaho, the daughter of John and Monta Rogalsky.

Betty grew up in Montpelier, ID, graduating from Montpelier High School in 1946. Her father worked for Union Pacific Railroad and was transferred to Notus where she met Harold Lewis. They were married at her parents' home on August 24, 1948. They were married for 67 years.

Betty was beautiful, quiet and shy, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her demeanor was sweet and simple, and her biggest love was her family. A great day was celebrating a birthday or holiday with the whole family playing games and just spending time with each other. She was able to take numerous trips with each or all of her children and grandchildren. A few of her favorite trips were camping at Silver Creek Plunge, Disneyland, Branson, and most recently the Oregon Coast. She also loved being outside and working in her yard and flower beds. If the sun was out, so was she, making sure there was not a single weed to be found. Betty was a wonderful person and leaves behind a family that loved her and will miss her greatly.

Betty was preceded in death by her brother, Elvin Rogalsky and her Son-in-Law, Mike Javaux. She is survived by her husband, Harold Lewis, a brother Lloyd (Arlene) Rogalsky, her three children, Gayla Javaux, Anita (Erik) Hansen, Bryan Lewis; her six grandchildren, Trina (Jeremy) Fry, Kristin Hansen, Lisa (Brandon) Chamberlin, Dirk (Crystal) Hansen, Aubrey and Mya Lewis, and her three great-grandchildren, Charlie Chamberlin, Shelby Fry, and Jude Hansen as well as nieces, nephews, and a special friend Beth Woolstenhulme of Montpelier.

At Betty's request there will be no service. The family would like to thank the St. Lukes Hospice team for their support.
