In Memory

Kent Wallentine - Class of 1970

Kent Charles Walletine (Wally) 65 passed away peacefully in his home on November 28, 2017, after a courageous fight with cancer. Kent was an extraordinary and simple man who was loved and admired by all who knew him.

Kent was born on April 28, 1952, to Cloyd and Lois Ann (Peterson) Wallentine. He grew up in Paris, Idaho in a large active extended family. He attended Bear Lake High School and ISU. Kent married Sarah Dunford on May 3, 1974. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 26, 1982.  Sarah is the love of his life and meant everything to him.  Together they have five children, Russ, Rick, Scot, Laura, and Amy. He loved and adored each one of his children and is very proud of them.

Being with his family in the outdoors is the thing he loved the most. Kent loved hiking, hunting, shooting guns, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, and spending time with his children and any of his ten grand-children. It didn’t matter the activity as long as his family was together.

Kent worked for Monsanto for 40 years. His co-workers were like a second family to him. They made work fun and he often shared fun stories and the great memories he had at Monsanto. Kent’s biggest concern with retiring is not seeing his work friends.

Kent is preceded in death by his father and mother. Kent is survived by his wife Sarah Dunford and his 5 children. Russ Wallentine, Rick (Debbie) Wallentine, Scot (Amy) Wallentine, Laura (Brad) Henderson, and Amy (Josh) Thompson.

A viewing will be Friday, December 1, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Schwab-Mathews Mortuary. The funeral will be Saturday December 2, 2017 at 11 am at the Paris, Idaho Stake Center. There will also be a viewing prior from 9:00 -10:45 am.
