Vauna Lee Pugmire - Class of 1969

Vauna Lee Pugmire Warner, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and faithful disciple of Jesus Christ, passed away on August 5, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Vauna was born Vauna Lee Pugmire on December 20, 1950, in St. Charles, Idaho, to Vaughn Pugmire and Joleen Roberts. After the passing of her mother when Vauna was very young, she was lovingly raised by her father and Yvonne Thomas Pugmire.

Vauna graduated from Brigham Young University and went on to enjoy a successful career as an internal auditor.

On September 18, 1976, Vauna married Ricky Lee "Rick" Warner. Together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. Rick served for 20 years in the United States Air Force, and Vauna embraced the experiences and sacrifices that came with life as a military wife.

Her faith was an important part of who she was. Vauna was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served her Heavenly Father throughout her life. She had a special love for music and enjoyed sharing that gift by playing the organ at church.

Above all, Vauna loved her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose life was enriched by her children, grandchildren, siblings, and extended family. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, perseverance, and service that will continue through the generations who follow her.

Vauna was preceded in death by her parents, Vaughn Pugmire, Joleen Roberts, and Yvonne Thomas Pugmire; her beloved husband, Rick Warner; and her grandson, Preston Warner.

She is survived by her children, Kari McDaniel and her husband, Franklin; Michael Warner; Jamie Falconi and her husband, Keith; and Mark Warner and his wife, Mari; as well as her stepdaughters, Shannon Backel and Lisa Hunter.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cailen Sherwood, Jordan McDaniel, Milane Warner, Jonathan "Buddy" McDaniel, Cameron McDaniel, Cason Sherwood, Jackson Sherwood, McKenzie Falconi, Keith "KJ" Falconi Jr., and Makito Warner.

Vauna is also survived by her siblings, Debbie Thacker, Lucille Goodwin, Rand Pugmire, and Gregg Pugmire, along with many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Vauna spent her life faithfully serving her Heavenly Father and loving her family. Her family finds peace in knowing that she has now been reunited with her husband, Rick, her grandson, Preston, her parents, and other loved ones who went before her. The faith she demonstrated, the music she shared, and the love she gave so freely will continue to be felt in the lives of those she leaves behind.

There will be a graveside dedication service at the St. Charles Cemetery on Saturday, August 15th, 2026 at 10 am. All are welcome.
