In Memory

Donna Nelson (Warnock) - Class of 1969

After many health struggles, Donna Warnock took her last breath on this side of the veil on December 3rd, 2023, in Utah Valley Hospital. We believe she was greeted with much anticipation by her son Adam and many others in a much better place. Donna Elizabeth (Nelson) Warnock was born March 15th, 1951, in Montpelier, Idaho to Rasmus K. Nelson and Annabel Whiteside Nelson. She loved being part of a large family with 20 siblings. Donna married Richard E Warnock on April 2, 1971 and they had 6 children together.

Donna loved hunting, especially turkey hunting. She also loved shooting, gardening, reading, camping, and spending time with her family. She and Richard shared their love of the outdoors and spent a great deal of time in the mountains together. Donna put countless hours into coaching the Springville Junior Rifle Club and teaching hunter education. She loved all the kids she worked with deeply, and had a great impact for good in their lives. Donna was an avid gardener, and loved grafting unusual additions onto her trees while watching the birds. Her favorite birds to watch and photograph were the hummingbirds that came to her feeders. She also helped honeybees by setting up water stations for them in the summer. Donna attended Brigham Young University for premedical studies but most of her life she was a full time homemaker and was very invested in her children. She worked for the Census Bureau later in life and enjoyed connecting with people there. Donna wrote children's stories and illustrated them with the many beautiful photos she had taken during her trips in her beloved mountains. She was working to have them published one day.

Donna will be missed by so many and especially her husband and children, Joy Hopper (Mark), Karin Joyce (Greg), Liza Warnock, Suzanne Peterson (Chad), the late Adam Warnock (Krystal), Jacob Warnock (Molly), and her 15 grandchildren: Allen Hopper (Chloe), Summer Hopper, Stori Hopper, Aspen Hopper, Skye Hopper, Brooke Joyce (Daniel), Montana Joyce, Luke Joyce, Madison Joyce, Jeremiah Peterson (Caroline), Rianna Peterson, Benjamin Edgell, Katelyn Edgell, Kenzie Warnock, and Lexie Warnock and two great-grandchildren, William, and Wren Hopper.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. located at the Spanish Fork 17th ward building, 1750 East 750 South, Spanish Fork, Utah. Family and friends may attend a visitation prior to the services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Sigurd, Utah Cemetery.
