Royden K. Arnell, 57, returned home to our dear Heavenly Father at his home on Sept. 1, 2009, of a terminal illness. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a great friend to all. He was born Oct. 4, 1951, to Kenneth and Chloe Floyd Arnell in St. Charles, Idaho.
Royden worked and retired from Monsanto as a loyal electrician. He taught his family and friends the importance of service, perfection, loyalty and family.
He married his sweetheart, Lana Twiss, on November 7, 1975, in Montpelier. Royden loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, being by Bear Lake, which was his favorite place to be and fixing our home up. Above all he loved being with his family and grandkids.
Royden is survived by his devoted wife, Lana Arnell of Montpelier; Rick and Holly of Meridian, Idaho, Gary Paul and Tristin of Jackson, Missouri., and Jeremy and Andrea of Roseburg, Oregon. He also had two children from a previous marriage, Melissa and Nate Bartschi of Preston, Idaho, and Brett and Brooke Stone of Springville, Utah. Royden cherished his five grandsons, Kordell, Ryker, Kayden, Ripley and Wyatt, and his four granddaughters, Kylee, Elsie, Adelyn and Ashlyn. Royden was the youngest of seven children. Survived is Nedra Wilcox of Wasilla, Alaska, Lorna and Morgan Skinner of St. George, Utah, Sharon Anderson of Wyoming, his only brother, Gerald and Helen, Leila and Ted Shepherd, and Paulette and Byron Nelson, all of Montpelier.
Royden was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert.
Funeral services will be held at the Montpelier First Ward LDS Chapel on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. There will be a visitation prior to service from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. He will be laid to rest at the Montpelier Cemetery. We know that he is at peace but he will be so sorely missed by all.
