Don C. Thomas, 63, passed away on November 6, 2011, after years of heart and diabetic issues. Don was born in Boise, Idaho, on August 5, 1948. He was the oldest son of Cecil K. and Joyce Bolton Thomas. He was raised and attended schools in Montpelier, graduating in 1968, with the first class of Bear Lake High School. He worked for a time as a section worker for the railroad. He later worked at the helmet factory in Montpelier and finally worked with the city as a sanitation worker. Shortly after working for the city he developed health problems, preventing him from working again. He was an avid sports fan and a dedicated San Francisco 49’r fan. He never married. He took joy in being involved in activities with his brother’s family, especially his nephews and extended family activities with uncles, aunts and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brother, Gary (Char) Thomas of Montpelier.
