In Memory

Brenda Scofield - Class of 1968

Brenda Kay Scofield passed away Thursday, April 25,1996 at her home. She was born October 22, 1949 in Montpelier, Idaho, the daughter of Lloyd and Velma Bunderson Scofield. Brenda was a professor at Weber State University for 20 years. Some of her greatest joys in life came from teaching and being involved in the lives of her students. She received her PhD from the University of Utah and her BS and MS degrees from Utah State University. During her tenure at the university she was active in numerous professional organizations and campus groups. Some of these include serving as the State President of the Utah Home Economics Association and as the Executive Director of the Consortium for Utah Women in Higher Education. Not only was Brenda greatly involved in community and school but she also had a multitude of interests and talents. As one who thrived on activity, she loved sports, such as waterskiing, snow skiing and softball. She was an accomplished seamstress and cosmetologist and was thus well recognized for her tasteful fashion sense. Her outgoing personality, spunky humor and unyielding drive endeared her to many. She will always have a place in our hearts. She is survived by her mother of Montpelier, Id.; one son, Brent Singleton, Ogden, Ut.; two daughters, Katrina Hall and Jocelyn Hall, both of Bountiful, Ut.; and one sister, Diane S. Hall, Logan, Ut. She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services were held April 30, 1996 at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary. Burial was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
