Leslie Walter Smith was born in Smithfield, Utah April 14, 1919, the son of Heber William and Dorothea Sophie Thompson Smith.  He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1938.  He married Miriam Roberts June 29, 1939 in Salt Lake City. He died May 14, 1970 in Willard, Utah.
