Ralph Lewis - Class of 1934

Ralph Calvin Lewis, 48, of Ogden, a former Dingle resident, died  Sunday, January 27, 1963, in an Ogden hospital of a heart attack, following major surgery Friday. He was born May 24, 1914 at Dingle, the son of Thomas George Lewis and the Calla Irene Booth Lewis. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1934. Mr. Lewis moved to Ogden 14 years ago, and was employed as a carpenter in the Ogden school district. Mr. Lewis was a member of the LDS Church and was a past president of the Elders Quorum, and at time of death, was an instructor in the Ogden organization. Mr. Lewis and Virginia Margaret Whinham were married August 21, 1934 at Soda Springs and the ceremony was solemnized, October 31, 1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. Surviving besides his widow of Ogden and father of Dingle, are four children, Mrs. James G. (DeLone) Laughter, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Bramwell Jr., Ralph W. Lewis, and Linda Lewis, all of Ogden; six grandchildren; and two brothers and two sisters, Calvert T. Lewis of Dingle, Merrill N. Lewis of Montpelier, Mrs. Thiel (Beulah) Smith of Ogden and Mrs. L. D. (Maurine) Perkins, of Montpelier. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ogden, and burial was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
