Glenn Bauman - Class of 1940

Glenn Bauman, 71, died March 11, 1994 in Longview, Wa. He was born Aug. 28, 1922 in Montpelier to Christian and Martha Bartlome Bauman. He grew up in Montpelier and after graduating from Montpelier High School in 1940, he enlisted in the US Army Air Corps where he was trained as a pilot. On May 20, 1944, while stationed in Puerto Rico, he marred Elsie Emilia Vogel. After being discharged from the Air Corps, he moved to Longview where he worked as a salesman for Weyerhaeuser Lumber and later for King Bearing. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, hunting and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Elsie, three sons, Dennis, Mike and John; two daughters, Jerilyn Rainke and Jania Cheshire, all of Longview; his mother, Martha Bauman of Montpelier; and a sister, Viola Mattson of Paris. He was preceded in death by his father. Services will be held March 16 in Longview, Wa.
