Lannie Phelps - Class of 1959

Lannie Vere Phelps, 55, of Hayward, Calif., a former resident of Montpelier, Idaho, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1996, following complications with cancer.

Lannie was born Aug. 24, 1941, to Hawley and Myrle Poole Phelps in Montpelier, Idaho. He was raised and educated in Montpelier, graduating in 1959. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Margean Monroe. They were later divorced. On Aug. 18, 1987, he married Chandra Reddy.

He loved music, playing the piano, entertaining people and watching football. He was a member of the L. D. S. Church and was serving as a high councilor in Hayward, California Stake.

Lannie is survived by his wife, Chandra Phelps, Hayward, Calif.; one daughter, Shawna Jensen, Clearfield, Utah; one son, Rex Sears, Chicago, Ill.; one brother, Don Phelps (Teresita), Chubbuck, Idaho; and two sisters, Arlene (Buck) Foster, Corvallis, Ore., and Alice (Roland) Cahoon, Layton, Utah. He was preceded in death by his first wife; one son, Don Sears; his parents; one brother, Joel Phelps; and one sister, Karen Phelps.

Funeral services for Lannie Phelps will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1996, at 1 p.m. at the Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. Fourth Ave., Pocatello, with Bishop Kent Hill conducting. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services at Colonial. Interment will be at Montpelier Cemetery
