John Sparks - Class of 1957

John William Sparks, 28, a former Dingle resident, was killed about 7:46 AM Saturday, September 16, 1967, in a traffic accident in Soda Spnngs. The pickup which Mr. Sparks was driving and a moving van driven by Ralph J Sadler, 25, of Indianapolis, Indiana, collided at the Intersection of Main Street and US 30 N. A woman passenger In the van escaped injury, but Sadler, who was trapped In the van for an hour. was taken to, the Caribou County Hospital.

Mr. Sparks was born September I, 1939 In Montpelier, son of  the late Elliot and Mona Nowland Sparks. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1957.  He was employed by Wells Cargo Construction Company. Mr. Sparks was a member of the LDS Church. He and Margene Hamp were married November 1, 1957. Surviving are his widow and two daughters. Terry LaNae and Tamara Gene of Soda Springs, mother of Dingle. four brothers and five sisters, Allen Sparks, Mrs. Keith (Joan) Koeven, Mrs. Larry (Georgia) Wixom and Darla Sparks, all of Dingle; Mrs Doniel (Melba) Johnson of Ovid, Elliot Eugene Sparks of 'Montpelier, Deon Sparks of Randolph. Utah, Mardell Sparks of Provo, Utah, and Mrs Paul (Sandra) Hartley of Cloverdale, California.

Services were conducted at 1 PM Wednesday in the LDS Stake House at Soda Springs and burial was in the Dingle cemetery under direction of Whitman-Matthews Mortuary.
