Lamond Wilcox - Class of 1929

LaMond Hiatt "Cox" Wilcox, 77, died Wednesday, July 15. 1987 at his home in Montpelier. He was born July 26, 1909 at Garden City, Ut. to Joseph and Ermina Abigail Hiatt Wilcox. His mother died when he was a baby and he was raised by his older sister, Annie. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1929. He married Betty Ermatrude Skinner on Dec 16. 1950 at Pocatello. He served in the U S Army from 1942 to1945 in Europe. Following his discharge from the Army, he held an interest in the Bear Lake Lumber Company until 1951, when he went to work for the Union Pacific Railroad. retiring in 1978. For the last 40 years, he also ran a dry farm with his two brothers Brandon and Bradley Wilcox. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as ward clerk. He is survived by his wife of Montpelier five sons, Terrence and Mondie Wilcox. both of Logan. Ut.; Troy Wilcox, Riverton, Ut.; and Wyatt and Leland Wilcox both of Montpelier, Id.; one daughter, Debbie Lucero, Logan. Ut.; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Bradley Wilcox, Salt Lake City. He was preceded in death by four sisters and six brothers. Funeral services were held Saturday. July 18 in the Montpelier Fourth Ward chapel. Burial was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
