Clinton Hanson - Class of 1930

Clinton Victor Hanson, 68, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1980 in Pocatello following an extended illness. He was born May 6, 1912, in Montpelier to Victor J. and Effie Mae Perkins Hanson. He grew up in the Bear Lake area and on graduated from Montpelier High School in 1930.  On December 9, 1933, he married Edith Dayton. In 1939 he was employed by the WPRR Water Service Dept. and in 1965 was transferred to Pocatello as general water service supervisor over the division. He retired in 1974 after 35 years of service and was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was also a lifetime member of the Union Pacific Oldtimers, He is survived by his wife, Edith; four children: James C. Hanson, Green River, Wyo.; DeAnn Horsley, Farmington, Utah; Mrs. Richard R. (Vicki) Woolett, Lander, Wyo., and Mrs. Dennis S. (Marlys) Passey, Green River, Wyo.; two brothers, Reed Jr. Hanson, Ogden, and Max J. Hanson, Pocatello; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Norma) Wootten, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Helen Kunz, Montpelier, and Mrs. Jerry (Marjorie) Leeper, The Dalles, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Matthews Mortuary Funeral Chapel in Montpelier. Burial was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
