Marsel Jacobsen - Class of 1938

 Marsel "Mark" Cowley Jacobsen, 75, died March 7,1995, in St. George. He was born Oct. II, 1919, in Bloomington to Joseph Cowley and Ethel May Draney Jacobsen. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1938. He married Irene Farnsworth, Montpelier, on April 20, 1945, in St. George. Mark served in the United States Air Corps dunng World War it. His service took him to North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Southern France. He lived in St. George throughout most of his life where he was part owner and operator of S. George Gas Company. He also worked for the Washington County School District and as a court bailiff. He enjoyed working with wood and making and repairing metal materials. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include his wife, Irene, St. George; two sons, Leslie M. (Margaret) Jacobsen, Cortez, Co., and Cole Ted (Sherry) Jacobsen, St. George; daughter-in-law Irene Staheli; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; four brothers and their wives, Dr. Gene S. and Barbara, Murray, Loraine F. and Joyce, Nampa, Forrest D. and Virginia, Montpelier, and Larry and Lee Ann, Logan; sisters-in-law Cora Jacobsen, Provo, Delores (Ronald) Cannon and Gloria (Jay) Willis, both of St. George, and Gladys (Jay) Hall, Veyo, Ut. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley; and a brother, Darrel. Graveside services and burial were in the Enterpnse City Cemetery, Enterpnse, Ut.
