LaVerne F. Gardner, 86, longtime resident of Pocatello passed away Friday, July 31, 1998 in a local care center following an illness.  She was born January 28, 1912 in Montpelier a daughter of David Romaine Follick and Mary Jane Randall.  She attended schools in Montpelier and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1929.  On November 7, 1933 she married Merlin Raymond Gardner  in the Logan LDS Temple.  He passed away in 1980.  LaVerne was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She was active for many years in Relief Society and was a visiting teacher.  She spent the winter months with her son in Las Vegas and the summer months with her daughter in Pocatello. Bowling was one of her favorite activities and she also liked to knit, crochet and do various handiwork.  Survivors include three sons a daughter and eight grandchildren.  Graveside funeral services were held at the Mountain View Cemetery.
