Elva Hancock - Class of 1924

Elva Hancock, one of the well known and highly respected young women of Montpelier passed away June 5, 1928 at the home of her parents.  She was born October 23, 1905 the daughter of John and Deseret Lawson Hancock.  She had a brief illness with influenza-pneumonia and every possible effort was made to save her life after it was apparent that she was seriously ill.  Elva had hosts of friends and schoolmates who were shocked to learn of her sudden demise.  She was a graduate of Montpelier High School where she was an able and brilliant scholar.  Since her graduation she had been employed as a bookkeeper for the J.C. Motor Company.  She was 22 years of age and was born and raised in Montpelier.   Besides her parents she is survived by one brother, Vance.  She was buried in the Montpelier Cemetery.
