Eleanore Stephens (Odell) - Class of 1938

Eleanore Stephens Odell, loving mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully September 1, 2001, following a short illness in Walnut Creek, California.

Born in Montpelier, Idaho, July 12, 1920, she was the daughter of Thomas Nephi and Clara Christine Welker Stephens. She attended the Agricultural College in Logan, Utah, as well as LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.

She worked ten years for Paramount Pictures and over thirty years for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a secretary in the Office of the First Presidency. She served as a docent and assistant director of the Beehive House. She also served in various capacities in both the Twenty-First and Second Wards.

A brother, Evan, of Montpelier, Idaho: a daughter, Christine (Kimball) Lloyd of Alamo, California; four grandchildren, David (Laurel)Lloyd, Melissa (Thomas) Woodbury, Amy (Benjamin) Simiskey and Thomas Lloyd; three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Lauren Woodbury and Ethan Lloyd survive her.

Funeral services will be held in Salt Lake City on Saturday, September 8, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple. Visitation will be prior to the services from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Interment will be at the Montpelier, Idaho cemetery.
