Ruth Winters - Class of 1924

Funeral services for Ruth Winters, 64, former resident of Montpelier, daughter of the late Francis Martin and Chloe Tippets Winters, will be held at the Montpelier First Ward of the LDS Church, Firiday, July 25 at 11 a.m. Miss Winters, who has resided at the Park View Rest Home in Ogden for the past two years, was stricken with an acute heart attack last Monday, July 21, 1969 at 3:30 p.m. and died while en route by ambulance to the David O. McKay Hospital. Viewing byfriends and relatives will be at the chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. preceding the funeral service. Service will be presided over by a nephew, Bruce Smart, member of the presidency of the South Bountiful LDS Stake. Miss Winters, fifth child of the family, was born in Montpelier on September 10, 1904, where she spent her childhood and early youth. Here she attended elementary and high school, graduating from Montpelier High School with the Class of 1924. For several years the was here employed by Mutual Creamery Company, bulk processors and distributors of milk and dairy products. She later moved to Ogden and from 1935 to 1952 was employed by the Dukos Candy Company, in their food catering department. In mere recent years and until entering the rest home she served as attendant, companion and horne nurse in several Idaho and Utah homes. Interment was in the Montpelier City Cemetery.
