Jay Linford - Class of 1983

Jay Thomas Linford, 21, drowned in a canoeing accident Saturday evening April, 1986 in a reservoir near Big Piney, Wyoming.  He was born February 15, 1965 at Montpelier to Jon R. Linford and Sharon Roberts Linford of Wyoming.  He graduated from Bear Lake High School where he founded the Rodeo Club and served as the president and was also in the drama club.  He graduated in 1983.  He loved rodeo work, was a member of the National High School Rodeo Association and later of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.  His specialty was bareback bronc riding.  He played the guitar and sang western songs.  He was presently living and working in Big Piney, Wyoming.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  Survivors include his parents, one brother and one sister.  Funeral services were held in the Geneva Ward Chapel.  Burial was in the Cokevile Cemetery.
