David Barnson - Class of 1976

David Glenn Barnson, 39, died January 18, 1997 in Bannock Regional Hospital in Pocatello of injuries sustained in a car accident the night before while enroute to a ball game in Cokeville.  Also killed in the accident were his daughter, Jennifer Lyn Barnson , 14, and his son David Andrew Barnson, 11.  He was born November 3, 1957 in Montpelier to Glenn and Mary Jean Einzinger Barnson.  He was a graduate of Bear Lake High School and was employed with Monsanto for almost 20 years.  He married Annette Lloyd on March 12, 1977 in Dingle and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on December 16, 1980.  He was an active member of the LDS Church.and was an Elder.  He had served as stake Sunday School secretary and was the Cub Scout leader in the Montpelier Third Ward.  He was very active in community affairs where he served on the Bear Lake County EMT's, Monsanto Emergency Response and Volunteer Fire Department member.  He served as Chief of the Fire Department and led the drive to build a new fire station.  He was a Little League coach and recreation umpire for all leagues.  David along with his son and daughter are survived by their wife and mother, Annette Barnson and daughter and sister, Mollie Ann Barnson.  Joint funeral services for all three were held in the Montpelier Tabernacle.  Burial was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
