Denise Jensen (Kallstrom) - Class of 1980

Denise Lavon Kallstrom, 49, was an early Christmas present for Dennis and Colleen Jensen. She was born December 24, 1961. At the age of eight she was baptized in the LDS Church. She attended high school in Montpelier and graduated in 1980. She attended Idaho State University and graduated with honors from the auto parts and distribution program.

Denise married the man of her dreams June 22, 1985 and after years of traveling the northwest for work they settled in Bennington in 1989. Jeff and Denise brought three wonderful children into the world; Denray, who was only with them for 25 days, Kebra and Kataya. In 1995 Jeff, Denise and Kebra moved to Cokeville. Kataya joined the family in 1996. Denise’s life revolved around her girls as she watched them grow up. She was dedicated to supporting their lives in school, athletics and every other aspect. She was heavily involved in organizing school fundraisers and helping others in every way possible. Denise was generous to a fault. She always put others needs before her own. She loved and participated in a dart league with friends for years. She was the life of the party and always had a smile on her face. Her positive outlook on life was always contagious to others. She loved Bear Lake, camping and cooking. Denise was never one to follow recipes or rules and always made her own path down the road of life.

The days before Denise’s death were spent doing what she loved, watching her daughter play basketball. She passed away at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper surrounded with love and support on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011 due to a heart attack with diabetic complications. Denise was fortunate enough to save lives with her organ donation. Her pancreas will also be used for the Juvenile Diabetic Research Program in Florida.

Denise is survived by her husband, Jeff Kallstrom, daughters, Kebra and Kataya of Cokeville, mother, Colleen Jensen of Montpelier, sister, Chris Price of Georgetown, many nieces, nephews and mother, brothers and sisters-in-law. She is proceeded in death by her son, Denray, father, Dennis Jensen and many others whom love her.
