William Higgins - Class of 1973

William Wayne Higgins, age 55, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 18, 2010. William was born on September 5, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to George and Gloria Higgins.
He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1973, and then joined the U.S. Navy for four years. He was a long-haul trucker for over 30 years. In 2001 he was recognized by the Truckload Carriers Association, as a Highway Angel for the acts of kindness shown to his fellow travelers.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette Higgins, of Medford, Ore.; mother, Gloria Higgins, of Soda Springs, Idaho; three daughters, Holly Higgins, of Bend, Ore., Jessica Zander, of Soda Springs, Idaho and Quillin Higgins, of Shelton, Wash.; stepson, Matthew Phillips, of Medford, Ore.; five grandchildren; and three brothers, Scott Higgins, of Loving, N.M., Steve Higgins, of Montpelier, Idaho, and Rodney Higgins, of Soda Springs, Idaho. He was preceded in death by father, George Higgins.
He will be remembered for his love of family, pets and hunting.
Memorial services will be held at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Friday, July 9, 2010, at 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life for friends and family at Bear Creek Park in Medford, Ore., at 4:30 p.m.
