In Memory

Harold Bunn - Class of 1973

Harold Tracy Bunn, 48, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the Bear Lake Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 4, 1954, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Harold N. and Mary Lue Nield Bunn. He was the oldest of their six children. He graduated from Bear Lake High School in 1973. He served an LDS mission in the California North Mission.

He married Melva Iris Saulls on Feb. 25, 1977, in Montpelier, Idaho. They became the proud parents of Lisa Ann, Lori Ann, Cori Ann and Katie Ann, and the loving grandparents of Makensie Lee, Trace Dennis, and Mikayla Lynn.

Tracy loved living in Bear Lake. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his father and brothers and wife and daughters. He was a world-class archer and placed in the Las Vegas International Tournament. He was proud of his three "Robin Hoods." He helped to teach archery for a few years to the students at Bear Lake Middle School. He served a term as president of the Bear Lake Bowmen and was active in the club for many years. He shot a six-point elk with his bow that just missed going into the Pope and Young record books.

After numerous shoulder operations he gave up archery and became a fly fisherman. The high point of the year was his annual trip to the Wind River Mountains (God's Country) with his dad and brothers. He also enjoyed the annual "Family Camp," where some people didn't act their age. He coached several city softball teams and helped coach the "Bear Lake Monsters" traveling softball teams.

He was an avid fan and supporter of anything that his girls were involved in. He helped chaperone many BLHS band trips. He was an avid Michael Jordan and Chicago Bulls Fan. He was currently serving as the Stake Young Men's secretary in the Montpelier, Idaho South Stake Young Men's Presidency.

He enjoyed the new computer skills he was using in his employment. He worked for the same phosphate fertilizer plant under three different companies, currently known as Agrium.

He was a kind, loving husband, father, son, brother, "popa" and friend. We love you and miss you!

He has now started his next phase in the eternal plan and is survived by his wife, Melva, of Montpelier; four daughters, Lisa Ann Bunn of Montpelier, Lori Ann (Scott McDermott) Richards of Spokane, Wash., Cori Ann (Billy) Olson of Shelley, Idaho, Katie Ann Bunn of Montpelier; three grandchildren, Makenzie Richards, Trace Dennis McDermott and Mikayla Lyn McDermott; his parents, Harold and Mary Lue Bunn of Montpelier; his five sisters and brothers, Shirlyn (Ned) Williamson of Logan, Utah, Vickie (John) Alleman of Bennington, Idaho, Jackie (Larry) Hansen of Rexburg, Idaho, Temp (Treva) Bunn of Tremonton, Utah, Ty (Sherri) Bunn of Bennington, Idaho; his mother- and father-in-law, Lynn and Vilate Saulls of Montpelier, and their children; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
