In Memory

Judy Burdick (Pedersen) - Class of 1969

Judy Lynn Burdick Pedersen, 56, passed into peacefulness on Thursday, November 8th, 2007, surrounded by her family at Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, after a several-year battle with cancer.

Judy was born January 10th, 1951, in Montpelier, Idaho, to LeGrand Burdick and Margaret Speirs Burdick. She enjoyed the association with both sets of grandparents in Bennington, especially working in her grandfather's store. Her love for books and literature began at an early age and continued throughout her entire life and was the foundation for her passion for teaching.

She was a 1969 graduate of Bear Lake High School (4.0 GPA) and then continued her education at Brigham Young University (true blue through and through) from which she graduated in 1973 (4.0 GPA). She sought employment at Bear Lake High School as an English and German teacher and completed 33 years of service in the same capacity.

She was married in the Logan, Utah, Temple on August 19th, 1988, to Roger Morris Pedersen. They were blessed with two wonderful, delightful children, Sara (18) and Cory (15). Her life was filled with service to others including service in numerous church callings but especially service as teacher and friend. She ever sought more learning of history, languages, culture, and art through study, through travel, and mostly out of the "best books." This thirst for knowledge she tried to instill in everyone she encountered but, most importantly, sought to teach life's best lessons of honor, responsibility, and respect.

Judy is survived by her husband Roger Morris Pedersen, her daughter Sara Lynn Pedersen, and son Cory David Pedersen, Montpelier, ID; her parents LeGrand and Margaret Burdick, Montpelier, ID; sister Carol Davidson (Don), Etna, WY; brother Donald Burdick (Lyona), Bennington, ID; brother Laran Burdick (Shelly), Bennington, ID; and sister Mary Miller (Jules), Inkom, ID; and her several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
