Irene Seewer Bartschi, 78, of Gridley, California died December 31, 2002 at Mesa, Arizona at the home of her daughter.   Born August 3, 1924 in Montpelier, Irene was the wife of a family physician in Gridley.  She graduated from LDS Business College in Salt Lake City and worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. At age 20 she married Paul Edward Bartschi in Logan.  In 1952 they moved to Gridley where Paul opened his medical practice.  Irene was a lifetime member of the LDS Church and held various church positions.  She and Paul traveled through many countries.  She is survived by five daughters, three sons and 32 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in Liberty Ward in Gridley.  Interment was at Gridley Cemetery.
