Lillas Swensen Clark, 97, died September 22, 2001 in Orem, Utah after a series of illnesses. She was born March 16, 1904 in Montpelier to Ole Swensen and Mary Jane Hogansen. She lived in Montpelier all her life until 1995 when illness forced her into nursing care in Pocatello and then Orem. She attended school in Montpelier and began studying music at the age of six. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many positions. She was ward and stake organist at a young age and sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir while attending the McCune School of Music in Salt Lake City. She married Royal D. Clark March 6, 1963 in the Logan LDS Temple. She served for 18 months in the California Mission (1949-1950) and the West Central States Mission with Royal (1964-1965). She loved doing genealogical and temple work. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and had a notable music career in Montpelier where she taught piano and organ. She performed in over 1400 funerals not to mention the other dances and social gatherings. She is survived by two step-sons and one step-granddaughter. Funeral services were held in the Montpelier First/Fourth Ward Chapel. Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
