Raymond Burton - Class of 1928

Raymond H. (Mickey) Burton, 56, a native and life-long resident of Montpelier, died on a Monday in October, 1964 in the Veteran's Hospital in Salt Lake City following an illness of four years.  He was born September 18, 1908 to Hyrum and Eliza Nickols Burton.  He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1928.  He played basketball and was interested in athletics.  An infantryman with the rank of technical sergeant he saw action in the European and South Pacific theatres of World War II.  He worked at several firms during his life and also the Highway Department.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  He and Mae Wyler were married November 25, 1935 in Paris, Idaho.  Besides his widow he is survived by two children and three grandchildren.  Services were held in the Montpelier Third-Fifth Ward Chapel.  Interment was in the Montpelier Cemetery.
