Alan Crockett - Class of 1946

Alan Lyman Crockett, 39, a Salt Lake City chemist and former Montpelier resident died Wednesday, September, 1968 in the LDS Hospital where he had undergone heart surgery on August 15.  He was born in Salt Lake City February 25, 1929 a son of the late William Lyman and Millie Crockett.  He attended elementary schools in Montpelier graduating from Montpelier High School with the class of 1946.  After two years with the US Navy mostly in Tokyo, Japan he entered the University of Utah in Salt Lake City majoring in chemistry and graduated in 1952.  For the past year he was employed as a chemist by US Geological Survey.  Before that he was associated with Vitro Uranium Company and later chief chemist of Lucky Lager.  He was a member of the LDS Church.  Alan and Betty Jo Lee were married March 1, 1951.  Besides his widow he is survived by five children.  Services were held at Cottonwood Mortuary in Salt Lake City.  Burial was in the Bountiful City Cemetery.
