Clifford Skinner - Class of 1937

Clifford John Skinner, 60, died at his home Wednesday of cancer.  He was born September 17, 1919 at Nounan, Idaho.to David Patterson Hunter and Bertha Ladewig Skinner.  When he was six he moved with his family to Montpelier where he received his schooling.  In high school he excelled in track and held the mile record for several years.  During the second World War he worked in a CCC Camp and also as a railroader. He married Golda Eborn in Paris May 8, 1939 and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 8, 1941.  He was employed as foreman of the Gene Hall Ranch in Geneva and then at the Budge Ranch in Eight Mile before he moved to Dingle in 1942.  He served as ward clerk and for two terms as bishop of the Dingle Ward.  He served for several years on the Stake High Council and also as a Sunday School teacher.  At the time of his death he was serving as Dingle Ward High Priest group leader and also as production manager of the Bear Lake Regional Church Welfare System.  He served two terms as sheriff of Bear Lake County, served on the Board of Directors of the Dingle Irrigation Co  Survivors include his wife, eight sons, four daughters and 34 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Dingle Ward Chapel.  Interment was in the Dingle Cemetery.
