Kay Bentsen Sims, 38, died at her home in Montpelier on Sunday January 7, 1979. She was born October 1, 1940 in Montpelier to Gerald H. and Merinda Vilate Larsen Bentsen. She married Roger T. Sims September 12, 1958 in Montpelier. She was an active member in the LDS Church and worked in the Relief Society for several years. Survivors include one son, Gary Lynn, Montpelier; one daughter, Cynthia, Logan, her mother; one brother, Larry Bentsen; one sister, Mrs. Dennis (RaeAnn) Wilcox, all Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her husband. Services were held at the Matthews Mortuary Chapel, Wednesday, January 10 with Bishop Gary Lowder conducting. Prelude and postlude music was by Carol Holderby and the family prayer was given by Glen Birch. The opening prayer was by Calvin Sims and the obituary and remarks were given by the Bishop. Interment was in the Garden City Cemetery.
