Milton Jones - Class of 1936

Milton R. Jones, 62, died in Hoisington, Kansas January 1, 1979 of a heart attack.  He was born in Montpelier October 24, 1917 to Ethel V. Robinson Jones and Franklin Lee Jones.  He attended schools and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1936.  He graduated from Utah State College in 1940.  He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad until 1942 when he entered military service.  Jones served with the US Army Air Corps until 1945 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.  He married Esther LaVern Eichman, January 13, 1943 in Hoisington, Kansas.  She died September 26, 1974.  He was associated with his grandfather Frank Jones in the grocery business in Montpelier before moving to Hoisington where he was in business with his father-in-law, John Eichman.  He entered service with the US Postal Service in 1948 where he was employed until his retirement in 1976.  He is survived by his mother, a brother and a sister.  Funeral services were held in Hoisington, Kansas at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.  Burial was in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Hoisington.
