Lewis Dunn - Class of 1926

Lewis Brady Dunn, 74, Pocatello, died early Friday, November 16 in St. Anthony Community Hospital following an extended illness.  He was born May 6, 1905 in Georgetown, Idaho to Noah Brady and Abigail Trippetts Dunn.  He was reared on a farm four miles south of Georgetown graduating from Montpelier High School in 1926.  Mr. Dunn  came to Pocatello in 1929 to attend the Southern Branch of the University of Idaho.  He majored in music and political science obtaining a master's degree in educational administration in 1935.  On December 20, 1929 he married Marcelline Christman in Pocatello.  They made their home in Pocatello until teaching positions took them to Fish Haven, Victor and then back to Pocatello where he put in 11 years at Franklin Junior High.  He was also principal at Bonneville, Whittier and Roosevelt schools.  After 16 years as the first principal at Greenacres School he retired in May, 1970 after 37 years of teaching.  He and his wife enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the LDS Church, a member of national, state and local education associations and was past president of the Elementary School Principals.  Survivors include his wife, a daughter and four grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Manning Funeral Chapel in Pocatello.  Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
